Unlocking a better community system for BAME young people and their families in Wandsworth

Founded in 2018, we work with young people and their communities across the London Borough of Wandsworth to improve Mental Health awareness, access and action.

Our Approach

Awareness

We bring key local Mental Health information to the places where young people are found. Schools, community groups, youth centres.

Access

We help BAME young people and youth organisations access culturally appropriate services that are relevant to their needs.

Action

We provide opportunities for young people to tackle inequalities, so that they can bring real change to their communities.

Some of the companies that help us do what we do

Racism is always visible and obvious, and mostly comes from individuals through physical and verbal abuse and an open contempt for those of a certain ethnic or cultural background. While this is definitely a form of racism, other elements of racism are widespread but harder to spot. In the UK, major institutions operate in ways that discriminate against Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people including children.

Access

We highly recommend these wonderful services!

Action

A few ways to tackle the inequalties.

Get In to Tech

The Power Platform Summer School works with young adults from BME communities, providing training on the Microsoft Power Platform as well as mentorship from industry professionals, during an 8 week program.

Launch your ideas

Got a business idea, but no idea what to do with it? Want to scale an existing business but not sure how? Business Launchpad offer workshops, 1-to-1 coaching and mentorship to London youth aged 16 - 30. Build the entrepreneurial skills and mindset you need to set up and grow your own business.

Become a Yogi

Experiencing and fighting racism is exhausting, stress-inducing and traumatising. 'Revival' is training BAME young people aged 18 - 30 to teach yoga, so they can empower their communities with tools to protect their physical and mental health.

Our Podcast

Listen to a collection of young people, youth workers, community leaders sharing their experiences, advice and lessons from the world of Black Mental Health.
